Much has been happening since the last time we wrote and we thought it only fair to keep you updated. As it turns out the Lebanese Minister of Agriculture has made the decision that the circus animals are to leave Lebanon! You must bear in mind that this is quite a big decision for him to have made seeing as the Lebanese have no legislation on animal welfare. Happy New Year!
The first message I received this morning, the first day of the new year, was thankfully one of hope. Although the animals are still in captivity at the circus, much is being done to raise awareness across the globe as to the plight of animals, such as these. The ongoing work of all involved is truly inspirational and teaches us that it is not enough to be 'human beings', but we must stirve to 'humane' beings.
